Job Overview:
As a Commercial Site Foreman at SSC Construction, you will work closely with the Job-Site Superintendent to oversee and administer the onsite day-to-day general operations of assigned construction projects, from start to finish. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with building codes, quality control, communication with subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Construction Operations Oversight:
- Work with the Job-Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations of assigned construction projects.
- Ensure adherence to building plans, state and local building codes, material and labor installation specifications, and construction scheduling.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Interact professionally with trade partners, suppliers, building officials, owners, and other SSC team members.
- Communicate expectations to subcontractors and follow up to ensure they are met.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure quality control of work in place and product conformance to approved specifications.
- Issue Recognition and Problem-Solving:
- Work with the Job-Site Superintendent to recognize potential issues such as schedule slowdowns, labor or material shortages, and provide safeguards or problem-solving strategies to mitigate them.
- Safety Compliance:
- Monitor workplace conduct from all subcontractors and company employees participating directly on the jobsite to ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements.
- Travel and Remote Work:
- Be prepared to travel, stay overnight, and operate remotely as required by project locations and needs, primarily within the state of Florida, with most jobs based in Central FL.
- Experience in Hotel Construction:
- Experience in hotel construction projects is ideal.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the commercial construction building process, building plans, and state and local building codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and compliance.
- Experience in hotel construction projects is preferred.
- Willingness to travel, stay overnight, and operate remotely as needed.
